Donate Supplies

Your donations of supplies play a vital role in supporting the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina and the animals in our care. Whether you donate food, blankets, toys, or other essential items, your generosity directly impacts the well-being and comfort of our pets.

 

Your support also allows us to allocate more resources towards medical care and enrichment activities, ensuring each animal receives the attention they deserve. Your donations make a significant difference in the lives of our animals, and we are deeply grateful for your kindness and support.

How to drop off supplies:

Supplies can be dropped off any time thanks to our convenient donation bin outside of our front office. If you have items that you would rather hand directly to a staff member, please reach out to us at 252-413-7247 to schedule a convenient time. 

Items we always need:

  • Liquid bleach (any brand)

  • Liquid laundry detergent (any brand)

  • Paper towels​

  • Fancy Feast Pate (fish/chicken/beef/turkey) canned cat food

  • Nitrile exam gloves (all sizes)

  • Dog and cat toys – New/Gently used

  • Dog and cat treats – Nudges, Pupperoni and training treats are most beneficial

  • Cat Litter

  • Tall trash bags

  • 55-gallon trash bags

  • Gallon sized Ziplock bags

We are not currently in need of:

  • Pet clothes

  • Dog leashes, harnesses

  • Pet bandanas

  • Prescription pet food

  • Pet food bowl raisers

  • Pet ramps/steps

  • Grooming supplies

Thank you for thinking of us, but we cannot accept:

  • Retractable leashes 

  • Raw food 

  • Comforters or woven blankets 

  • Pillows 

  • Cushions 

  • Fitted sheets 

  • Mattresses 

  • Rugs 

  • Carpet squares 

  • Dirty litter boxes, litter scoops 

  • Ferret, hamster, or other exotic pet housing, food, bedding, etc. 

  • Controlled substance pet medications 

  • Open bags of pet food -- please contact the Pet Food Pantry of Eastern North Carolina instead! 

In addition to in-kind donations, we also greatly appreciate any monetary contributions you can provide. The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina is not affiliated with a national organization, nor do we receive any funding from the city or county governments. We rely on generous donations from our supporters. Your gift supports the animals in our community and saves lives.
