Boomer

Boomer standing at attention to see who is coming down the walk.

Boomer is an outrageously handsome neutered male Rottweiler (maybe hound) mix.

What a sweet and gentle boy Boomer is. He has a good dose of Rottweiler blood in him and he exhibits many of the endearing and noble qualities of the Rottweiler breed. He is aloof with strangers and physically affectionate with those he knows well. Boomer was unsocialized when he arrived at the Humane Society and his progress has been slow and steady over the past fifteen months.

He has, on occasion, spent the night as a house guest at the home of volunteers and done exceptionally well. He has a natural inclination towards good house manners and with a patient and steady human, he will adjust quickly to household life. House training will most likely take minimal time as he prefers to wait until walked to answer the call of nature.

Boomer loves the water and will dunk himself in a kiddie pool. He has had the steady company of his brother who was recently adopted and we don’t know how he will bond with other dogs. He is getting more used to children although he has not been exposed to them for protracted periods of time.

A new family must be willing to allow him to gain confidence slowly in new situations. The Humane Society staff and volunteers have spent considerable time working with Boomer; therefore, he is to be placed as an inside dog and potential adopters must have vet references and a home check. Permission for adoption is at the sole discretion of the Humane Society.
