Candace

A Family of Her Own

Hello! I wanted to share my success story about a dog my family adopted from you guys about a year ago! Here it is:

I visited the Humane Society in Greenville a few times and loved playing with all the cute and playful dogs there! However, one special dog, named Candace, caught my eye! She was extremely shy and seemed to be scared of just about everyone. Every time I visited the Humane Society after that, I tried to get her to play with me. She had been at the Humane Society for a few years and I knew that I needed to be the one to adopt her! So I had my mom and sister drive up from another town to meet her and they immediately fell in love with her too. After years of Candace having no family, she finally found us!

Candace has slowly warmed up to all of us and has become the family dog that we have always wanted! She enjoys lounging around on what my mom likes to call her "princess bed" and goes crazy for some peanut butter in her Kong! Her favorite pastime is to run around our big backyard and will spend hours exploring the yard! She also has fun taking long walks around our neighborhood!

Even though it has taken a lot of hard work and patience getting Candace to get over some of her fears of people, my family and I couldn't love her more! She is the greatest gift we could have asked for and I look forward to her coming out of her shell even more!
